F.A.Q
How many people go on your tours?
We like to offer a very pesonalized attention to our guest; our groups have from 2 to 10 participants, on most dates we are able to open a departure with just two people. However bigger private tours can be arranged.
What activities are included in the Multi-Days Tour?
Depending on the tour you will enjoy activities such as biking, hiking, float trips, canopy and some beach activities. We can always customize any of our private trips if there are other activities that interest you.
What equipment should I bring with me on the bike tours?
We will supply the bike, flat pedals, helmet, gloves and hydration for the tour. However, you may prefer to bring your own pedals and shoes, favorite helmet and gloves, and a hydration pack to make the most out of the tour.
What is the terrain like?
On the one day tour, the terrain varies according to the tour and its rating. Advanced trips feature more technical terrain, more climbing and descending. Intermediate tours offer moderate amounts of climbing and descending, but little technical terrain. Easy tours feature mostly paved or mixed roads on level gradient. The Raft, Bike & Nature 9 Day Tour, is a challenging intermediate ride through several of Costa Rica's many ecosystems.
What else should I consider packing when coming to Costa Rica?
Even if you are coming during the dry season, you should bring a couple of rain gear items, at least an umbrella or a rain coat. Weather in the tropics is unpredictable and rain is always a possibility. Bring warm weather gear for the day activities and a mid-weight fleece or sweater for the evening. Evenings can be cold, depending in what part of Costa Rica you are staying. Depending on the tour you may need: Cycling Clothes, shoes & your favorite cycling items. You can also bring cosmetics, toiletries, medications, and sunscreen, Binoculars (optional, but highly recommended for wildlife viewing), Canoeing Gear, Sunglasses, Bring some good-quality eye protection, camera with film or digital camera storage cards, small pocket knife and spoon for picnicking, small reading light/flash light and swimsuits for hotel pools, raft and beach.
What bikes do you use?
We use front suspension Specialized, 24 speeds mountain bikes with shimano Deore and Alivio components (flat pedals). We have a team of professional mechanics and our own workshop to keep each bike in perfect operating condition.
