Arenal Volcano Hike Tour: Enjoy the most extraordinary views of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle hike along the base of this marvelous "Mountain of Fire". The Hike begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Silencio farm. Through the forest you have the possibility of spotting monkeys and a large variety of birds, including toucans. . with a bit of luck, you can see the lava of Costa Rica"s most active volcano(erupting daily since 1968). The hike on this trail is about 1½ hours, concluding the tour by relaxing in the nearby natural hot springs, from where you also can see lava rolling down. Option 2 Just like option 1, but without the walk in the rainforest. Venado Caves: The caves were formed during the Miocene period, 15 or 20 million years ago. For many years they were under sea level and due to tectonic movements they surfaced. The Guatuzos aborigines discovered the caves. Limestone rocks, stalactites, stalagmites and corals, form most of the caves. The whimsical stone formations are formed by the underground river. The length of the tour into the caves is 1½ hour, during this time we will find marine fossils, and also bats, spiders and crickets. Sky Tram-Sky Trek: Placed in a unique transition area between the rain forest and the Monteverde Cloud Forest you will find the Arenal Reserve. Experience the most spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano & Lake from the sky Tram or the sky Trek (zip lines) or take a nice hike trough trails full of flora and fauna, whatever your choice is, this reserve you will always remember. Sky Tram is a 15 minunte aerial tram tour trought the rain forest, where you will have spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano & Lake, and the Tilarán mountain range. Sky Trek is a 3280 foot long zip line system that gives you the opportunity to enjoy the rain forest and its beautiful views in a fun, easy and safe cannopy tour. Horseback Riding to La Fortuna waterfall: A beautiful example of the Costa Rican country site will be found along the way, cattle farms and agriculture, also the chance to see some birds as oropendolas and toucans. After 1 hour ride you have to walk five hundred meters into the forest to get to the waterfall, which is 70 meters high. At the base of the waterfall there is a "natural pool" where we can swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river for about one hour and then 1 more hour horseback riding to go back to La Fortuna. Mountain biking: Arenal Volcano to El Castillo - Half Day Mountain Bike Tour, easy to moderate riding on a gravel road at the base of Arenal Volcano; flat with a few short hills. A tour for beginner riders and the whole family. White Water Rafting: World-class rafting rivers you will find around Fortuna area. You will see many birds, lots of rainforest wildlife. This is an ideal half-day tour because it is close and you will not spend a lot of time traveling to and from it. No experience is necessary for this tour, but it is advised that you know how to swim, even though you will be given life jackets to wear. This tour is recommended for ages 7 to 65 whether you are a first-timer or an expert. Includes: Transport, professional, bilingual guides, safety kayaker and lunch.
